Blockchain Technology in Automotive!

The Catchphrase in Blockchain

We are entering into an exciting phase of the Blockchain Technology, one where.....
....the great majority of us are at a very nascent phase of negotiating the learning curve, and where fantastic hypotheses are floated courtesy this very nascence.

A 'distributed ledger-based system' is the phrase that goes around today - when asked about Blockchain. Then there is talk about proof of concept, decentralized control, hashing, and so on and so forth!
For example, 'Mobility': Being in the automotive industry, I am curious to find out what it means here. While IBM has already forayed into what is definitely a gamechanger as far as mobility is concerned, analysts already see high impact applications of the technology.
The backbone/lynchpin of Blockchain and what makes it a mouthwatering prospect for businesses is this. And these are topics which have been overtly oversimplified for us (the non-techies) to understand.

Blockchain Enabled Vehicle Autonomy

Will Blockchain technology help reassess and reiterate what industry watchers ask for from the industry?
  1. Are the present plans and prototypes of autonomous vehicles real-world ready?
  2. How safe, these vehicles will be?
  3. Will incidents such as the Tesla episode be eliminated when fully autonomous vehicles become the norm?
What excites the automotive enthusiast in me is maybe the fantastical possibility that,
If Blockchain guarantees an immutable past? Could it make predictive analytics flawless about the future?

There is a lot of technological debt involved in an unsystematic implementation/trial/adoption as Dilbert tries to explain here, Courtesy Scott Adams, Dilber.com  And as with any new technology its adoption will be step-by-step, phase-by-phase, b...
